Part of G&A's legacy is Leslie Appel Maher: a private client advisor who enjoys transforming anxiety over life’s everyday risk into confidence in living with the proper plan. Along with the passion she brings to the table, she also brings empathy, knowledge and responsiveness in a way that makes complex conversation easier.

Leslie grew up with insurance in her blood and always wanted to be a part of the family company. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in communication from Denison University and a Master’s in wellness management from Ball State, she spent four years working for Indiana University Health. During her tenure, she developed and administered system-wide, corporate wellness initiatives that were instrumental in IU Health being recognized as Indiana’s Healthiest Employer twice. 

Then, in July of 2014, her dream of working with her family became a reality when she joined Gregory & Appel’s Private Client team. Since then, she’s pursued experience in all varieties of personal safeguards - from standard home and automobile insurance to policies covering wine and fine art collections.

In early 2020, Leslie was nominated by her peers to serve on CICF’s Professional Advisor Leadership Council where she enhances her knowledge and helps support charitable giving in Central Indiana and beyond. Always hungry to do more, she also makes sure to prioritize spending time playing tennis, learning pickleball and loving on her husband and two daughters.
